Can I learn to sing....???Please help?

When I sing I have trouble breathing and when i try to imitate someones voice or dont sing with feeling. But sometimes when i manage to sing my style my voice sounds good. I want to sound decent, not be great. If i take lessons will i be good/decent. I really want in the future to record a christian cd. Im learning to play guitar right now if that helps, also I know the basics of playing the clarinet, and I have played recorder and can read some music. So i have some musical knowledge. And I am not tone deaf. I am 18 and a girl.
